Boynton Primary School

From Little Acorns, Mighty Oaks Grow

Meet Our Governors

Our Governors are very involved in the life of the Boynton Primary School. Working in conjunction with the Headteacher, their role is to assist the Head Teacher in continuing to raise achievement for all. They meet each term as a whole Governing Body and several times per term in different committees, each with a specific focus, e.g. Leadership and Management, Outcomes and Quality of Teaching, Behaviour, Personal Development and Safety, and they ensure current legislation is addressed and appropriate actions taken.

Our Governors come from a wide range of backgrounds and professions and are made up of community members, parents and staff (teaching & non teaching).

Governors regularly visit our school, meeting with teachers and subject leaders in order to stay well informed. They keep up to date with regular training themselves and are usually involved with the appointment of new staff.

Occasionally vacancies arise for Parent Governors and when they do, we will inform you through the school newsletter.

Chair of Governors: Jo-Anne Bowes

My name is Jo-Anne Bowes. I am the Chair Of Governors at Boynton School.  I am also Safeguarding Governor for the school too.  My eldest child attended Boynton School and thoroughly enjoyed his time there.  My youngest child still attends and receives a high standard of education taught by amazing teachers.

I work as an Admissions Officer for the local college, and love helping students choose their next step on their educational journey.

I am proud to support Boynton School and its wonderful team of staff.  I look forward to seeing the school continue to flourish and grow and achieve great things.

Vice Chair of Governors: Louise Booth

Hello, my name is Louise Booth. I am married and live in Bridlington and have two grown-up daughters and a new grandson. My background is in education and I am a recently retired, long-serving Headteacher for the East Riding.  I passionately believe that every child deserves the very best possible education, delivered in a positive and supportive learning environment. I am delighted to serve as a Governor for Boynton Primary School and volunteer my knowledge, skills and experience to support the Headteacher and staff team to deliver this.  Boynton Primary School is a lovely,  warm and welcoming school at the heart of the local community and it shares the same beliefs and values as I do. I am looking forward to helping it continue to flourish and grow.'
